Starting on Sunday, June 28th, and continuing through August, the Cape Neddick Country Club will introduce Family Golf. Open to both club members and the general public, this new program is aimed at bringing younger golfers to the course with their parents, grandparents  and/or siblings to play 6 shortened holes at their own pace. The cost will be only $8 per person which includes 6 holes of golf on the shortened ‘Little Neddick’ family course, use of clubs, and dinner in The Grille at Cape Neddick Country Club before or after golf. “Family Golf is perfect for younger children who might not be ready for the pace of play and length of a typical golf course. Not only is this program fun for families, it offers the opportunity for children to learn a lifetime sport,” says David Perroni, Head PGA professional at the Cape Neddick Country Club. The outing is also perfect for the parent who might need a night off from making dinner to enjoy a fun and affordable evening. “Also, as part of our Family Golf program, my staff and I will also be offering lessons on the basics of golf at a discounted price,” Perroni adds. “The $8 per person cost includes a dinner choice of children’s favorites: chicken fingers, grilled cheese sandwich or hot dog, along with chips and a drink,” says Patty McNeice, manager of the Club’s restaurant. Additionally, the bar and items from the full menu will be available. Tee-times between 3:30 to 6:00 pm can be made by calling 207-361-2011. Groups of up to five will be accepted so long as one child under 12 and one adult over 21 are present in each group. The Cape Neddick Country Club is a semi-private resort golf course located 2.5 miles south of Ogunquit center on scenic Shore Road. The public is welcome on a space available basis. A limited number of 2009 single and family memberships are also is available. The Club also hosts group outings and tournaments.
